Lawrence County is a county located in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. In 2000, its population was 94,643. The county was added to the Pittsburgh Metropolitan Statistical Area in 2003. The county seat is New Castle. Lawrence County was created on March 20, 1849 from parts of Beaver and Mercer counties.
